Feb 15: It was a cold windy day. Ida was worse again. She was so bad the Dr. kept her under stimulant all day and all night too. She vomited all the time. Feb 16: Ida is no better. She sleeps all the time - slept or laid in a stupor all afternoon till something after 8 oclock when the Dr. come to give her the hypo as usual, but in a few minutes after he had given it to her she seemed to take a chill and was gone in less than 5 minutes. She was rashanal [rational] up to the last and her life went out like a flash. The Boys come home and staid all night. The undertaker took care of her. Poor girl she is done suffering. Feb 16: Julia [another of Mary McCoy's daughters, sister of Ida] come over and we selected the casket and the robe also. Feb 17: The folks all got together and we took her to Blair and had her funeral preached and took her to the last resting place in the Blair cemetery lot there to rest till the grave gives up its dead.
