Note

John was a pumper for Gulf Oil Co. Martha was a homemaker. John was married three times.
In the 1900 U.S. Census taken June 20, 1900, in Illinois Township Washington County, Arkansas, James Price is 38. He was born September 1862. He lives with his wife of thirteen years, Mary who is 27 and born December 1872. James is from Arkansasand his father is from Virginia and mother from Iowa. Mary is from Missouri while her father is from Arkansas and mother from Kentucky. Mary has had seven children and all are still alive and living with them. James is a farmer who rents land.(Number 122 on the farm schedule.) The children listed are:
Earl W., son age 11, born February 1889;
Hattie M., daughter age 9, born May 1891;
Ada M., Daughter age 9, born September 1892;
Nannie R., daughter age 5, born February 1895;
John, son age 4, born March 1896;
James, son age 2, born December 1897; and
Edgar, son age seven months, born October 1899.
The children were all born in Arkansas.
James and Mary can read, write, and speak English. Earl is shown as unable to read, write, or speak English. None of the children were shown to have been in school during the past year. Earl is a farm laborer.

In the 1910 U. S. Census taken April 18, 1910 in Bartlesville City, Bartlesville Township, Washington County, Oklahoma, James Montgomery (age 47) is living with his wife Mary (age 37) and children: Earl (age 21), Hattie (age 19), Ada (age 17), Nan (age 16), John (age 14), James (12), and Edward (age 10) on Seneca Avenue in a rented home. James was born in Arkansas, while his father was from Tennessee and mother was from North Carolina. His occupation is shown as proprietor for a laundry. He reads, writes, and speaks English. He and Mary have been married twenty-two years. Mary has had seven children, all of whom are still alive. Mary is from Kentucky as are her parents. She reads, writes, and speaks English. Earl was born in Missouri. He is a clerk at a meat market. None of the rest of the children are employed. John, James, and Edward are in school.

In the 1920 U. S. Census taken January 28, John Montgomery, age 22, and his wife Martha, age 18, own a home in Jackson Township, Washington County, Oklahoma. John was born in Arkansas as was his father. His mother was born in Kentucky. Martha was born in Oklahoma while her father was from Arkansas and her mother from Kentucky. John is a farmer. No occupation is shown for Martha. Living near them are Martha'Ã„Ã´s parents Charlie and Anna Parks who also farm. Both John and Martha speak English and read and write. They live on Bartlesville Road.

The 1930 U. S. Census taken April 21 in Foraker Township, Osage county, Oklahoma shows John Montgomery and Martha, his wife, living in a rented home. At the time of the census, John is thirty-three and Martha, twenty-eight. They were married when John was twenty-two and Martha seventeen respectively. They live with daughter, Hazel A. (age 10) and son William E. (age 8). They read and write English and Hazel and William have gone to school during the year. John was born in Arkansas and his father was born in Arkansas also. His mother was born in Kentucky. Martha was born in Oklahoma. Her father was from Illinois and her mother from Oklahoma. Hazel and William were born in Oklahoma. John is a pumper with an oil company and a veteran of the World War.
