Birth Name	McCauley, Elizabeth Trees on Ancestry give her name as Elizabeth Mowerer and her marriage date with Georrge McCauley as 1820 in Tennessee. I have found no documentation of these claims, but they may be correct. However, see below: FindAGrave quotes this information: "GENEALOGICAL ABSTRACTS FROM REPORTED DEATHS THE NASHVILLE CHRISTIAN ADVOCATE, 1885-1886 February 21, 1885 ELIZABETH McCAULEY daughter of John and Mary McCauley, born Montgomery Co., Tenn., March 13, 1805; married George G. McCauley, North Carolina, Nov. 7, 1820; had numerous children, among them Dr. C. E. L. McCauley in whose residence she died, Clarksville, Tenn., Nov. 30, 1884." That entry agrees with the genealogy created by David Nevill in 2018 ("Descendants of Mathew McCauley"), of which only the first two pages have been provided to me. Mr. Nevill reports the birth surname of Mary McCauley to have been Moore. [That may possibly be the marriage of John McCauley and Polly Moore in Caswell Co NC on 14 Sep 1796, which is the only record I find that comes close.]

Birth	Note Despite the claim made in the text found on Findagrave (see name note here), I find no census documentation of a John McCauley in Tennessee in 1800 or 1810. There are entries for one or more persons named John McCauley in the 1836 tax list for Montgomery County TN. And there are later (1820-40) census records from Montgomery and Dickson counties.		1a
