        Sudden Death; Abram Bretz Passed Away at Daughter’s Home
        Abram Bretz passed away suddenly at the home of his stepdaughter, Mrs. James Malhern, 412 E. Merry Ave.’ Monday evening about 9 o’clock, death being due to old age and complications. The funeral will be held at the house Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock.
        Mr. Bretz was born in Germantown, Pa., August 26, 1845, and at the age of two years came to Ohio with his parents, settling in Richland county. From there he went to Cleveland and worked in the mail department of the Evangelical Messenger for ten years. In 1860 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Elizabeth Myers, at Nova, Ashland county.
        After a residence of several years on a farm near Napoleon in Henry county they moved to Wood county. For the past year he had resided with a daughter in Michigan but came to the home of his daughter here about a year ago.
        He is survived by a wife, three daughters, three sons and the step-daughter. They are George Bretz, of Missouri; Everett and Howard, of Oklahoma; Mrs. Chas. Salhoff, of Toledo; Mrs. Henry Remington, of Sheridan, Mich.; and Mrs. Wm. Montgomery, of Dewey, Oklahoma.
