James is a farmer and Sarah keeps house. They have a nine-month-old daughter named Ollie. Thirty-one-year-old Jefferson Van Note, James'Äô brother, lives with them as does Charles Miller. James has a farm worth $4000 and personal property worth 4475. James and Sarah were born in Illinois. Ollie was born in Missouri. Jefferson has land worth $4000 and personal property worth $175. Jefferson was born in Illinois. Charles Miller is 23 and was born in Indiana. (Jefferson is two months from marrying his wife. Jefferson'Äôs land is next to James land.)

They have two children: Ollie age 10, and Monroe age nine months. All were born in Missouri. Ollie attended school. Belle St. George, schoolteacher at the Van Note school lives with James and his family. Belle has been at the school for seven months. She is 21 and comes from Wisconsin. Her father is from England and her mother Ireland. They live next to brother Jefferson Van Noteand his family.

He was born in Illinois. His father is from New Jersey andmother from Illinois. Mary was born in Illinois. Her father was from Indiana and mother from Tennessee. They have four children: Ira age 8, Etta age 5, Edith age 4, and Estella age 2. All were born in Illinois. Only Ira had attended school.They live next to brother James Van Note and his family.
